Project Drawdown welcomes collaboration with a wide variety of organizations, initiatives, and communities. Our collaborations are focused on specific initiatives that promote broad public education and engagement around the Drawdown framework.

Public Engagement Collaborators

Sharing the results and opportunities of Project Drawdown’s research with the public is one of our key aims. Public engagement involves both sharing and receiving feedback in a two-way process, with the goal of strengthening Project Drawdown’s research and advancing climate solutions.

Drawdown Georgia

Inspired by Project Drawdown, Drawdown Georgia is building a powerful statewide movement to accelerate progress toward net zero greenhouse gas emissions. The organization is focused on scaling the solutions we have today to make bold, acheivable, cost-competive changes by 2030.

Drawdown Georgia provides a roadmap for all Georgians to build a new future based on equity, ingenuity, and shared humanity. They use custom science-based solutions to fit the state’s unique economic, social, and natural resources—and they've made it their mission to build equitable social capital so that we create a more just economy and a healthier population along the way. Weaving together together multiple social, geographic, and political perspectives, this Project Drawdown partner sets a high bar for meaningful climate action.

Nurses Drawdown

Nurses Drawdown invites the largest and most trusted group of health professionals in the world to take action in 5 key categories of Drawdown solutions to improve the health of individuals and communities, while also taking steps to heal the planet. These areas of focus are:

  • ENERGY: Supporting a clean energy future by promoting energy efficiency and advocating for a transition to renewable energy
  • FOOD: Commit to a plant-based diet, use of clean cook stoves, and reduced food waste
  • MOBILITY: Bike infrastructure, walkable cities, and mass transit
  • GENDER EQUITY: Educating girls and family planning
  • NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS: Planting trees, protecting tropical forests and forest protection

With an impact framework based on Project Drawdown's list of evidence-based climate solutions, Climatebase helps people find high-impact jobs at organizations advancing climate solutions, research, policy, education, and advocacy for climate action.

Global Cooling Prize

Based on Project Drawdown’s findings that improving refrigerant management is a key solution to climate change, the Global Cooling Prize aims to transform the global air-conditioning market and providing affordable access to billions of people around the world, all while avoiding contributing to runaway climate change.

This groundbreaking competition is designed to incentivize development of a residential cooling solution that will have at least five times (5X) less climate impact than standard Residential/Room Air Conditioners (RAC) units in the market today.

This technology could prevent up to 100 gigatons (GT) of CO2-equivalent emissions by 2050, and put the world on a pathway to mitigate up to 0.5˚C of global warming by 2100, all while enhancing living standards for people in developing countries around the globe.

Research Collaborators

As a collaborative effort built on the principles of collective impact, Project Drawdown brings together a global research collaborative to assemble, develop, evaluate, and disseminate the work we produce together. Project Drawdown acts as the steward of this collective impact by aggregating, incorporating, and making widely available shared research, data, and lessons of what works—and what doesn't—where climate solutions are concerned.

National Council for Science and the Environment

Project Drawdown partnered with the National Council for Science and the Environment to host the virtual NCSE Drawdown 2021 Conference, Research to Action: Science and Solutions for a Planet Under Pressure on January 5 – 9, 2021. Given the staggering pace of change in the world today, NCSE and Project Drawdown joined forces to amplify opportunities for collaboration and progress.
